Going Live!

Let me introduce you to my new partner. Although, he doesn’t have a name, he’ll be assisting in the short videos I’ll be making about my quilting process.

I have a commission to make a memory quilt. The client has saved her son’s clothes throughout his life and plans to present him with the quilt on his eighteenth birthday coming up in October.

I’ll be taking each pair of shorts, sports jersey and baby item and preparing to piece them into the quilt. Gratefully, the mother won’t have to watch as I slice into her favorite baby onsie.

Here’s the first quilt I made four years ago. It was meant to match the quilt someone else had made for their first child. Normally, I wouldn’t cut the clothing into half square triangles but she doesn’t mind the logos being quartered. I’ll do my what I can to get the best chunks.

You will see how I:

*              Decide which part of the clothing I choose to cut

*              Interface

*              Sew the triangles together

*              Arrange the triangles on my design wall

*              Add a border

*              Do the quilting

*              Binding

So stay tuned to follow along on my quilting journey. I’m starting small with little videos on my StitchCraft GA page, but who knows, I might move over to You Tube once I get going.
