This quilt was made during a class with Carole Lyles Shaw called Mid-Century Modern Curves. The method uses multilayered freehand cut curves to make the quilt look very improvisational. I used the striped fabric to inform the choices for the matching fabric.
The back uses the same fabric and is also improvisationally pieced.
I used straight-line quilting; a Hobbs organic cotton batting; and the contrasting binding is machine sewn to the front of the quilt and then wrapped around to the back and handsewn.
