I was driving down King Avenue in Athens, Georgia, one day and noticed a house being remodeled and was inspired to make a quilt with the six fat-eighths of Michael Miller’s Petal Pinwheels line for the 2014 Modern Quilt Guild Challenge. The front of the one-of-a-kind quilt is made to look like the entry door and the back shows the windows with the different seasons.
The windows are heavily quilted using free motion on my domestic sewing machine. The door is echo quilted and the white is quilted to represent siding.
A traditional double-fold coordinating bias binding around the edges ensures this quilt will stand the test of time.
Care includes machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle and either tumble dry on low or line dry.
