I used the wonky log cabin method in deep red tones to convey energy and warmth. The gold trapezoids are like a spark in the middle of the block to add movement and maybe a little surprise.

The turquoise is a soft-landing spot that breaks up the intensity of the surrounding colors. It is hand embroidered and echoes the geometric shapes of the wonky log cabin blocks.

I quilted straight lines to follow each strip of the block to give it texture and help move the eye around the quilt.

Overall, I think that the reds and yellows convey energy and warmth, while the blue band brings calm and stability.

This wall hanging is made from 100% premium quilting cotton.  Hobbs 80/20 batting is sandwiched between the layers. It is faced and includes a sleeve so it is ready for hanging.
